°Great Ocean Road°

Day 1

Äntlech send d'Nina ond de Tristan in Melbourne acho. Mer hend sie meteme beschreftete Kartonscheld ond voller Vorfreud am Floghafe abgholt. Währed de Fahrt noch Torquay (Stop 1) werd verzellt ond glacht. /Finally Nina and Tristan arrived in Melbourne, Nick and we two went to the airport with a poster and their names on it to pick them up. During the drive to Torquay we had a lot to talk about and we were laughing a lot.


Met Bier, Schnapps ond eme feine BBQ hemmer eusi Wiederkehr den am Obe gfiired. / We celebrated our gathering with beer, schnaps and a delicious BBQ



Day 2

Uuskateret esches den ome Mettag is Surfcity gange, en chlini "Stadt" nor met Surfshops wie Billabong, Ripcurl, Roxy, Quicksilver usw. Noch dem chorze Shoppingtrip esch s'Wätter den äntlech guet worde ond mer send ad Beach. 4-5 meter höchi Wälle erwartet eus. De Leandro, Tristan ond de Nick hend sech den euphorisch is Wasser gstörzt, send den aber noch chorzer Ziit weder bibbernd usecho, do s'Wasser iischalt gseh esch./After we got over our hangover we went to Surfcity, a "Town" only with Surfshops like Billabong, Ripcurl, Roxy, Quicksilver and so on. After this short shoppingtrip the weather got finally better and we went to the beach, where we were faced to 4 to 5 meter waves. Leandro, Tristan and Nick jumped into the water with lots of euphorism but got back after less than half an hour because the water was still freezing.

Day 3

En wiitere Halt hemmer be dem Lüüchttorm gmacht gha. / This day we went on on the Great Ocean Road, A short stop at the famous surfspot the Bells Beach and a Lighthouse

Nocheme chorze Räscht semer in Lorne acho.Ufem Camping wemleds vo welde Kakadus. Die send so zuetroulech das mer si sogar hend chönne füettere ond si be einige ufe Arm gfloge send. / After a little while we arrived in Lordne. There were a lot of Kakadus on our campingground and they were so used to humans that some of them even climbed up on your arm

En schöne Aableck, hend aber die meisste Wasserfäll ade Great Ocean Road im Momänt ned eso vel Wasser. / Later that day we came to this waterfalls, a nice view, but the most waterfalls on the Great Ocean Road do not have a lot of water at the moment.

Es riise Gaudi hemmer gha aber noch 20 Minute send alli so osser Atem gse dasmer den weder wiiter send. / After the waterfalls there was time for some action so we went to this trampolines. We had great fun, but after 20 minutes we were all too exhausted so we went back to our campground




Day 4


Am Nöchste Tag esch en wiitere Abschnett ofem Plan gstande. Vo Lorne eschs rechtig Apollo Bay gange, s grösste Städtli ond wohl au s bekanntiste of de Great Ocean Road. Onderwägs hemmer es paar Stops gmacht on Föteli gmacht... / The next day we went from Lorne to Apollo Bay, the biggest town and probalbly the most famous on the Great Ocean  Road. On the way we made several stops to take pictures of the great views




Ond so gsehds öbe us wemmer of de Great Ocean Road fahrt. Stross schlänglet sech ade Köste entlang, es hed veli Ussechtspönkt ond s Wasser esch, wen d Sonne es betzli schiint Saphirblau. /And this is how it looks like to drive on the Great Ocean Road, The Road is like a snake around the coasline, with lots of lookouts and the water is, if the weather is good, saphir-blue

Day 5


För alli wo ned so Schlangebegeisteret send (Achtung Susi!! :-) ). s Nöchste Beld onde esch en Schlange... /For all who do not like snakes, the next picture is a Snake!!

Wär weiss velech eschs jo en King Brown gse, die geftigst ufem ganze Kontinänt... / This day we split up. The 2 girls went to the Beach, enjoyed the sun and caught some waves. The 3 boys went to some waterfalls and did 2 walks. On one of them we saw this 1.5m snake, who knows maybe it was a King Brown...

Day 6

Tag 6 esch so zemli wort wörtlech is Wasser gheit. Es hed de ganzi Tag abegloh wie us chöble. Zom Glöck hemmer en guete Gamesroom gha met emene Töggeli chaste, Billard Tesch, Fährnse, Speli hemmer au debi gha ond Bier esch notürli au no gnüegend vorhande gse.../ Day 6 was the rainiest day since we are here. We spent the whole day in the games room, furtunately there was a pool table, table football, a TV, we had our cardgames and of course there was enough beer.





Day 7

Wiiter eschs gange of Port Campell. Eis vode letzte Städtli befor d Great Ocean Road meh is Inland go ond wäg vode Köste. Ganz nöch defo send aber d 12 Apostels, wo öbe die bekanntisti Attraktion of de Great Ocean Road esch. / We went on to Port Campell, one of the last towns before the Great Ocean Road turns away from the coast into the land. Close to Port Campel are the 12 Apostels, the most famous attraction on the Great Ocean Road.

Befor mer aber zode 12 Apostels send, semmer zerst no zom  Cape Otway Lighthouse. Of de fahrt detäne semmer dören Eukalyptuswald gfahre ond praktisch of jedem Baum send mehreri Qualas ghanget ond hend gschlofe /But before we came to the 12 Apostels we went to the Cape Otway Lighthouse, on the road we went trough a eucalyptus forest and on almost every tree there were several sleeping qualas.



So nöch hed mer änechönne ohni das är öbis degliche do hätti... / We could get so close to the Quala and he didn't even move a little bit

S erste mol wo mer 2 elei onderwägs gse send hemmer leider ned so vel Glöck gha, aber s 2. Mol eschs den wonderschön gse. Aber lueged sälber was es före riiisige Ontersched macht. / It was breathtaking, but it is a huge difference if you see them with good weather or not. The first time just we 2 went there we were not that lucky, but the 2nd time it was a beautiful day, but check it out yourself...






Day 8

So euse 2 letzti Tag esch abroche met desne ond mer hend noeinisch super Wätter gha, also semmer no es paar Lookouts go mache, met es paar atemberaubende Ussechte... / Our second last day with the others and we had beautiful weather again, so we stopped at several lookouts to take pictures of the magnificant views.

D Nina ond de Tristan hemmer is Hostel procht wo si no 5 Täg Melbourne agluegt hend ond den au of Brisbane gfloge send wo d Nina au die letzte 3 Täg verbrocht hed ond den Hei gfloge esch. De Tristan blibt no chli in Australie ond mer wärded ehn sehr warschindlech in Queensland nomol gse. Aber alles i allem esches sehr speziel gse eusi Frönde gse heizgo, of de einte Siite vermesst mers halt scho chli diheime of de andere Siite werd eim bewosst wie lang mehr no chönd do si ond was no alles vor eus liid ond ned zuletzt die öber 40°C Temperaturontersched zo dehei ;-) / The last day we had to say goodbye. We dropped of Nick at the airport, from where he flew to brissie where he spent his last couple days before he flew back to Lichtenstein. Nina and Tristan were taken to their hostel where they spent another 5 days in Melbourne before they went to Brissie as well. There Nina spent her last 3 days befor she had to go back to Switzerland too. Tristan stays in Australia and we will see him again in Queensland.  All in all it was very special to see our friends going home. On the one hand we miss Switzerland and our home, but on the other hand you get to know how long we will stay here and what we will see and experience and last but not least the more than 40degrees temperature difference to Switzerland ;-)

Hard work, aber es hed sech glohnt. Zerst hemmer mösse knapp 40 Minute laufe bes mer zo dem wonderbaare Wasserfall cho send ond den hend de Nick ond ech no mösse of dä Stei ufechlädere. Förs Föteli hed s sech amel glohnt./Hard work but it was worth it. After 40 minutes walk to the fall Nick and me had to climb this rock.
